12th December 2007...here's the plan!

INTERNATIONAL  LOSTPROPHETS DAY

 12.12.07

So we have kept you all hanging about like a disorientated bat for a little while, so now its time for the big reveal. 12.12.07 is International lostprophets Day. Don't panic though, we won't be making you all listen to their songs on repeat all day long while locked in dungeons, or making you learn and speak Welsh for the day. Nope, we want to have a bit of good old fashioned fun. So we have some fantastic things lined up for you all, that you can all participate in wherever you are on the planet. We want everyone want to put on their pink legwarmers, feather boas, dickie bows and Top hats and celebrate Lostprophets all over the world, and tha's all fans , old and new.

We will be holding the first annual Lostprophets awards on the day, where everyone will be able to vote beforehand. There may even be a Best haircut category hidden amongst the other categories that will be on offer.

We also will be asking you all to vote for the best lostprophets video ever, and we will have a countdown to the big reveal of the winner of the fans vote on international lostprophets day. almost like a pre-christmas advent calender, minus the plastic tasting chocolate.

we will be having a very special comment book online, where we want people to post a (non-pornographic) message for the boys, and any special stories and memories, or indeed anything you have done or are going to do on International lostprophets day etc that we can send onto the boys to read and digest afterwards when they have a rainy day.

We are hoping aswell to get as many fans to all make at least just one request each to radio stations, or for their video to be played on TV
no matter where you are in the world. It will be up to personal individuals if they fancy bombarding and harrasing the radio/TV with numerous requests through means of blackmail or offereing sexual favours.

These are just a few of the confirmed exciting things we will have happening, with many more to be announced... with a few more hidden surpises up our sleeves, and here at op4am we have very long sleeves.

As you know you have all been voting for your best lostprophets song ever. we know its been a hard choice, and we also know that some of you have
queried as to why not EVERY song was there to be chosen. well we do have a theory in the madness. we want to try to get the winning song back in the charts on downloads alone. While we know that this may not happen, and infact may be a mission impossible, it would be fun to at least try. And whilst we know this may not work in every country, in the UK it is possible to get a song in the charts on downloads alone. ALL the songs in the vote ARE available in different places to download in the UK for definate , unfortunately , we are sorry but CAN'T guarantee the songs are available for every country. And yes we know it will cost around 79p - 99p (in the UK), but we thought it would be fun to try it, and have everyone downloading the winning song on international lostprophets day.

we hope that not too many of you are disappointed in our announcement, and while this may not be everyones cup of tea, just remember it's all supposed to be fun, and fun it will be we can guarantee it :)

we will have more info soon, but the main thing is we need to spread the word on this, so tell all your friends, your family, your neighbours and your slightly dodgy looking postman who like to tell you he has a "package" for you.

So, in the spirit of things, here's one of the other catergories we'd like you to vote in. If you've been lucky enough to see the guys live this year, we'd like you to vote for the best live performance of 2007

Best Live Performance of 2007

and whilst you're there, if you haven't done so yet...don't forget to vote for your favourite Lostprophets track of all time...and once you've done so, why not tell us why your chosen song is so special to you. More news soon guys!! xxx

Vote for your favourite Lostprophets track of all time

As we know, whilst the guys are in the studio working hard on the new album, apart from the occassional blog, video or new set of photos, there's not really going to be a great deal going on to keep us here at OP4AM busy. Over the last few days, we've been having a brainstorming session to see if we could come up with any ideas as to how we can make sure that as a street team we do what we do best, and that's keep Lostprophets fresh in everyone's minds. We've managed to come up with a few things that we think you'll all like, and all will be revealed in good time!!

There is one thing we thought we'd like to get started on though, and that's discovering what your all time favourite Lostprophets track is. We've set up a poll of 69 tracks, and we'd love it if you'd all take just a few moments out of your day to vote!! Just click on the link below and it will take you straight through to the poll

What is your favourite Lostprophets track of all time?

There's a method to our madness, which we will let you know about very soon. The poll will be kept open for the next few weeks, and we'll keep you updated with the results. We'd love as many of you as possible to get involved with this as what we have in store is going to be HUGE!!!

So get voting everyone and watch this space!!!

Mike Lewis of Lostprophets shares his VMA opinions

There is a little interview with DJ Rossstar over  here on Buzznet with mike lewis... you can read it here below....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you ever curious about what one band thinks of another and which bands actually listen and respect eachother? Buzznet wants to know all, so Mike Lewis, the rythm guitarist of Lostprophets, shared his opinions based on the 5 questions DJ Rossstar provided him (below). Read through his then share your opinion in the VMAS forum.

1. Do you still think the MTV VMA's are as important to the music world as they used to be?
Answer by Mike Lewis: I dont think MTV or music channels in general are as important these days.. Its almost as if the music video is dead.. All the music channels play now is reality shows. Music television that doesn't play music.. quite the oxymoron!

 2. Who are you looking forward to seeing perform this year? Who was your favorite VMA performer of all time?
Answer by Mike Lewis: To be honest i never really watch them and i have no idea whos playing this year.  The whole show is usually just a bunch of people reading autocue very very badly and looking extremely awkward. I enjoyed sarah silverman hosting the movie awards this year, at least she had a personality. Britney when she had the snake was pretty cool, i remember that one..

 3. If you could choose the performance line up for the VMAS , who would you choose?
Answer by Mike Lewis: oh god knows...  as long as the black eyed peas or fergie was nowhere near it i'm pretty easy going, then again she might piss her pants again. JT is always fun to watch, and britney would have to be there just to see what the fuck shes gonna do next!

 4. Who are you routing for in these categories?
- Category 1: Best New Artist
Amy Winehouse: "Rehab," "You Know I'm No Good"
Carrie Underwood: "Before He Cheats"
Gym Class Heroes: "Clothes Off," "Cupid's Chokehold/ Breakfast in America"
Lily Allen: "Alfie," "Smile," "LDN"
Peter Bjorn and John: "Young Folks"

Answer by Mike Lewis: I'd back Lily Allen out of that list.. her dad is rad!

- Category 2: Best Group
Fall Out Boy: "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race," "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"
Gym Class Heroes: "Clothes Off," "Cupid's Chokehold/ Breakfast in America"
Linkin Park: "What I've Done"
Maroon 5: "Makes Me Wonder"
White Stripes: "Icky Thump"

Answer by Mike Lewis: Fall Out Boy cos they’re nice chaps

 5. If you were nominated for an MTV VMA, which award would you most
want to win and who would you thank?
Answer by Mike Lewis: Best Haircut. My Hairdresser.

Rumours

We have had quite a few concerned people who have had bulletins and read blogs about lostprophets splitting up.

we can assure you all that this is extremely unlikely, as the boys are recording their 4th album at the moment, and are very kindly keeping us all updated with their progress, with lots of video blogs, and pictures.
