Glasgow Gig ~ Interactive

Glasgow gig - interactive

WE have some good news for everyone who is unable to attend the Glasgow garage gig. Op4am and megalolz.com are joining forces to to bring you the gig live as it happens. Well to the best we can. What we will be doing is having a thread on the megalolz forum which will, all going well be updated with picture and reports from the gig, while it is happening. So while everyone cant be at the gig, we are going to try to bring the gig to YOU.
We are asking anyone who is going to be at the gig, if they have a camera phone, if they can take some photos and email them to operation4am@gmail.com so they can can be posted straight away in the thread for everyone to enjoy. Even just one photo from the gig, will be great and this will be a nice way to let fans from all over the world feel like they are "almost" there.
The op4am people will be texting what songs are played etc and anything else relevant to our op4am people who will be posting on the thread
We will give you a few more details more towards the time, and if this works well, then hopefully this can be a regular occurance.
Obviously we we are going to need alot of co-operation from people at the glasgow gig, but im sure that everyone will.

 All for now

Op4am asks Miss Conduct

We have another exclusive for all you. We want your questions for Miss Conduct. If you havent heard of the band then go and check them out right now, and add them as your friend.

http://www.myspace.com/missconductband

We here at op4am think this band is going places, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do. We recently saw them at The Full Ponty, and were blown away by their performance. Check out the blerb on them by reading their press release below

Email your questions for Miss Conduct to operation4am@gmail.com dont forget to keep them clean, original and fun. All your emails need to be in by Monday 18th June. Dont forget to include your name, age, and where you live.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Visible Noise presents

Miss Conduct and the awesome mini album

‘Sinner Vs Sinned’

Expect a trail of broken hearts and insanely catchy songs.” Rock Sound

The name Miss Conduct has been used to describe a lot of things; Internet searches show that the name has been used for:

  • The Agony Aunt from The Boston Globe, who specialises in Ladies’ Etiquette.
  • An aluminium diving dinghy.
  • A Californian fetish bondage model.
  • A 1968 porno flick.

Random. But your friends at Visible Noise have found the only Miss Conduct worth worrying about! Apart from that porno flick obviously…

The Welsh based tykes rise from the ashes of long term live favourites Then Came Bronson, featuring guitarists Gav and Shiner (Moose from Bullet for my Valentine’s brother!), drummer Ronnie, bassist Benji and the exceptional whirlwind vocalist Kim, who has been likened to

a seasoned sex kitten with all the overt sensuality of 1980's-era Madonna.’

The mini album, ‘Sinner Vs Sinned’, now available through Visible Noise, is full of pop punk attitude, epic riffs and anthemic choruses that you’ll be humming all day. If you’re not tapping you feet by the end of it, then we’ll eat our hats, or perhaps another similar, more edible garment…

After a successful tour in April, a BBC Radio One live session for Bethan and Huw, coverage in all the major rock press and a forthcoming slot at the Full Ponty festival alongside Lostprophets, Miss Conduct are ready to take over the planet.

Rock has been calling for a decent spokeswoman for ages, so ask Courtney Love to pipe down, tell Hayley Paramore that it’s past her bedtime, and get ready for Kim Waterson - worshipped by the girls and desired by the boys: everything you could want for 2007.

The Blackout news

Here is what is in The Blackouts latest bulletin

              -----------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, June 09, 2007

Recording/Writing new album
Current mood: jubilant

Bono Estentay!

Just a short blog to let you all know what's going on in the world of 'The Blackout'. We're currently writing material for our forthcoming debut album. We start recording June 15th and we're hoping to have everything finished around July. We're really excited about the new material as it's the best we've ever written. We've got gun fire, high fives, chants, cheesy riffs, dirty riffs, epic riffs, wild choruses and sing-alongs and we've even got some filler... ONLY JOKING!! THERE'S F**K ALL FILLER! There's also a chance we might have a little dvd on the album for you little roustabouts too!

But yeah, be patient and hopefully we'll have a release around September and a headline tour shortly after. So if you've been wondering what we've been up to then this is it. So stop wondering you wondering wonderers! As soon as we're done recording the album we'll be on the road again doing some festival shows. We've got a couple confirmed already, a Ripcurl festival in Newquay UK and the Pukkelpop in Hasselt Belgium. Hopefully we'll have confirmed some more in the next month or so.

We'll keep you posted with our monthly blogs, so keep in touch!

One love

Rhys x

Operation4am asks Bring me The Horizon

Not only do we bring you all the latest lostprophet news here at operation 4am, but we also like bringing you the latest news on up and coming bands. After our successful "ask the Blackout" we have a few more bands lined up for you all, that we think are going places. And again we want YOUR questions.
So the next band we have are Bring me The Horizon. This is a much talked about band who is very well known for splitting opinions and causing debates amongst people, in the same vein as MCR.. But thats where there simlilarities end. A unique band who are taking the music world by storm, they now have their first music video which you can watch here...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWggPLXeOkU

Please send any questions you have for Bring me the Horizon to operation4am@gmail.com and remember to keep them clean. We will only be selecting the most original, and best questions. ANYTHING referring to their private lives etc will be deleted straight away. please could you also state your name, age and where you live. All questions need to be in by Thursday 7th june.

You can find Bring me the Horizon in these places

www.bringmethehorizon.co.uk
www.myspace.com/bmth

               Band Bio

                                      VISIBLE NOISE presents

BRING ME THE HORIZON

'Britain's Most Explosive New Band'Kerrang!

'Super heavy, super talented, super charismatic, BMTH are destined for noisy greatness' - Metal Hammer

'A brutally good debut' – Rock Sound

'A force to be reckoned with'  Terrorizer

For BMTH, it all started in March 2004, when these 5 kids got together from the ashes of a collection of defunct bands and started to write some music. Taking their influences from bands such as Norma Jean, The Red Chord and many of the heavier American metal-core acts, the newly formed band soon started turning heads. Much more attention followed, building rapidly after playing shows across the UK with the likes of Zao, The Nothing, Shaped by Fate and Johnny Truant. A rabid, hungry, loyal and HUGE fan-base started to grow and their shows became busier and busier. They didn't have any boundaries or rules, they just wrote what they wanted to hear and play.

So as you can see, Bring Me the Horizon are five young British lads with a penchant for the heavy. Their astonishingly good debut mini album, 'This is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For', is essentially an 18 minute, mid nineties breakdown; four tracks of intense raging chugging and squealing, stop/starting and severe 'core riffing. Nary a second hand euro thrash riff to be found, nary a melodic sung chorus, all things about this genre that irritate are devoid (well save for ball splittingly tight pants and backwards hair-cuts). Then they played shows……and kids moshed……and they kept playing shows……and kids kept moshing……

And then 2006 became the year of the Horizon. First they became one of the top 100 played acts on MySpace (them and Coldplay were the only UK acts in the top 100!!!), followed by a blistering Radio One Rock Show Session. They won BEST BRITISH NEWCOMERS at the Kerrang! awards (beating off the likes of Enter Shikari and The Automatic…), toured with Lostprophets, Killswitch Engage, Aiden and Bleeding Though, performed a brutal and much talked about set at Download (biggest pit of the weekend) and have been bombarded with tours for Europe and the USA too…..Need I go on? And all this from a band that have only recently released their debut album!

The debut, 'Count Your Blessings', released through Visible Noise in October 2006, is full of what people have already come to expect from Bring me the Horizon: breakdowns, massive riffs, time signatures, tempo changes, immense vocals, shredding solos, blistering percussion, etc. BUT the experience of working with top producer Dan Sprigg (lostprophets, Cradle of Filth) has brought a new found maturity out of the guys, a more solid direction and focus in song writing and structure. All the ingredients are there to see 'Count Your Blessings' set Bring me the Horizon as a real bench mark band for 2007 and beyond!!! Miss this band at your peril…

Bring me the Horizon are:

Oli Sykes – Vocals

Lee Malia – Guitar

Curtis Ward – Guitar

Matt Nicholls – Drums

Matt Kean – Bass

Megalolz.com

We know a lot of you are wondering what megalolz.com is going to be all about, so here is a little info what the owners have said about it.......

                    ------------------------------------------------

We have a name (megalolz.com), and you can now sign up to get a little more information about its progress and when it will go live and so on and so forth.

We are going to make this fairly media heavy, we've made a very nice flash player which, with a bit of tweaking should be the dogs bollocks, and there'll be loads of videos (cream of the crop, none of this searching through dodgy youtube shit.. we'll do it for you) for you to watch.

We'll obviously be picking through some b-sides, probably get the earlier ones out for those who havent heard it, and any other rare/good live tracks there are just for shits and giggles. We want to try and make this media heavy

We also have the Operation4am  team on board with us, to help bring you all the latest information, as soon as its posted!

Features we are hoping to implement:

  • Flash Video Player - Live Videos, Mobile Phone Videos, TV Rips, Interviews etc
  • MP3's - Live, B-sides, Demos etc (still undecided if these are going to be streamed or downloaded)
  • Gallery - Live Photos, Promo Shots, Candid, and whatever other junk we can fit in our trunk!
  • Interviews - If we find an interview, expect to see it on MEGALOLZ.COM as soon as we can get our grubby little mits on it.
  • Competitions - We already have one promo campaign in the brewing, not sure how we're going to find a prize, but if we do, we'll turn the campaign into a competition!
  • Anything else that any of our members want to contribute to the website!

we want our site to be very media heavy, and want to put the emphasis back into the community of fans that Lostprophets were built around!

         -------------------------------------------------------------

So make sure you have signed up because you really dont want to miss out the launch of what is going to be an amazing site for all you fans, and you dont want to be left behind...
